LOL, ok that's not true.
But last week, there was a night where I didn't have anything to do.
I purposely found out what was due, a week in advance, and finished
it all. So when the time came rolling around, I had ONE entire 4 hour
evening to myself. What an ODD sensation. To feel like there is nothing
to do.
So I got to thinking. Have I paid the bills? Cleaned the entire house?
Gotten rid of old stuff/junk? Taken out my winter clothes and stored
the rest? Made some meals in advance to put in the freezer? Caught up
on emails, greeting cards, presents, etc? YES.YES.YES.
It was WEIRD you guys. I couldn't even entirely relax because I just felt
like there MUST be something I forgot. Believe me..this is RARE. I usually
have TONS to do.
Yes, I know I can practice NCLEX, etc. But I am brand new, and really don't
know how to apply them yet. We haven't gotten there in our cirriculum.
What else is there to do for times like this? Stuff that people usually get behind
on and should be doing in their spare time? (Ahem, like sharpening up on English. JK!)
Any ideas?
Your answers scare me....SLEEP? RELAX? PLEASURE? lol.
I take pleasure in being productive. Yes- I guess I am anal that way LOL.
I am slowly getting into movies. But I always feel like I could be studying
instead. However, my brain needs a rest once in a while, and I am learning
to do what needs to be done instead of overexerting myself (as far as
nursing material goes).
You are highly organized and disciplined when it comes to need to do stuff, however, you have no plan for free time, so, are you a little driven? Four hours of alone time sounds like an opportunity for reflection and meditation followed by a workout while listening to Bon Jovi's "It's my Life" (at earbusting volume). And then it's off to the shower with more music and your favorite (and preferably, sinfully expensive) soap or body wash.
I guess so huh? I never thought of it that way. But thanks.
Your idea sounds great. And I love my sinfully expensive soaps/bodywashes. Ahhh yes :loveya:

Look at it this way- you are forgetting something..... yourself!
Ok- productive things..... hmmm.
*Pluck your eyebrows. It's productive! Really!! It saves money by not paying to have them waxed.
*Read a romance novel. Reading uses the prefrontal cortex, or something impressive like that..... and you don't have to think a bit. Fantasy books are also nice- enough reality in life- but they are usually long. A romance novel is short enough to read in a couple of hours.
*Get online and research good lotions or face creams- find the best deals, revamp your beauty routine. Save money+look better=productive and happy, lol.
*Suduko- again the prefrontal cortex thing. I don't enjoy numbers per se, but something about Suduko and the logic and routine of it soothes me. It keep my mind occupied enough to hush all the ADD tangents and subthoughts. (like the little voice that whispers... shouldn't you be doing something?)
*Research geneology- IDK, I'm a nerd and love research- I also like history- and familysearch.org is free..... there you go.
*Make laundry detergent. I am not the domestic queen by any means, but if you have a traditional washer, homemade laundry soap is CHEAP! Easy, too. I used a basic recipe of Zote soap, Borax mule powder stuff, and washing soda. You can add essential oils. (Now I have a front load- I LOVE it, but the homemade stuff needs more water to work well) For that matter, I make most of my household cleaners. Greener and cheaper.
*Yoga. Simple poses don't require daily practice. Look up some yoga refrences online, try out the poses, practice the ones you like when you have time. Your back will thank you later on!! The one where you lay on you back, butt against the wall, and feet straight up makes my back very happy!
*I guess you could always clip coupons or make out a better bill paying schedule. Saves you time, stress, and money in the long run- gives you a sense of satisfation once you've accomplished it...... but it's not really fun.
I always have a need to do something- although I'll admit, it's not entirely disipline, lol. I have a sleeping disorder, (oh, how I hate it!), and if I'm not staying busy- I'll usually fall asleep. (One reason I don't like TV) Then I wake up ticked at myself because I 'wasted' the time sleeping. So, there are all kinds of little things I do to keep my mind engaged. It's one of the reasons I like the internet: one big never-ending book with infinite things to research.
