There are a bunch of existing threads here about professional Liability Insurance. Lots of good information there. If something goes pear-shaped at work, whether you full or part-time will have no relevance. You are fully responsible for your professional practice when you are at work, regardless of how often or infrequently that may be.

Today more than ever, as a "professional" nurse, the RN can be sued independently. I would strongly recommend it to any nurse. Our employers don't "have our backs" anymore...everything comes down to the bottom dollar.
