Well, I hate to be a source of bad news but my wife just recently failed her nclex test. She was on the deans list through school and never got a grade lower than a B. When she took the test she got all 265 questions. She was at work when I got the results online. I felt so bad for her. She is very upset over the results. I want to help her so bad but I dont know anything about nursing. Can anybody tell me the best classes or studyguides I can buy for my wife. I want her to nail it the next time. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Encourage her to go back to her school for support, guidance, and assistance in preparing for her re-test. They happily took her tuition money, and awarded her passing grades for her work in school and clinical. The school has a vested interest in seeing that she passes on her next attempt, as her failures negatively affect their pass rates. They should be willing to help her at no additional cost. If she has a good grasp of basic nursing concepts, perhaps she needs assistance with test taking skills and strategies.
Best of luck to her!

May I also suggest that your wife post here? :)
She can best articulate those areas where she felt lacking and specific concerns. I wish her the best on her next try.

I have a question. What about Saunders makes it the best?

It does the best in explaining the rationales, and has worked 100% of the time I used it with the foreign nurses that I trained. The language was easy for them to understand.
There are also many ways for the book to be used, not just reviewing sections or using the CDs.
Have her contact me directly via the pm system here.
NCLEX is a completely different animal than any of the exams that are taken in class. Taking the NCLEX is unique in its own little way. And the way that it is set-up, there are actually sevral students that I have come across fairly recently, as well, that were straight "A" students and did not get thru the NCLEX the first time, but I got them thru on the second attempt. It is just learning to understand what the exam is actually looking for.
If she does not already have it, get her the Saunder's Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN.

I am very sorry to hear about your wife. I am sure that with your encouragement and support she will get the energy to start again and pass it next time.
I am also studying for the nclex and I can just imagine what she must feel like...
Best wishes for the future to you and your wife!

Suzanne,
Do you know how Saunders generated practice questions? Did they thoroughly study real NCLEX-RN questions, identify keys components, and then simulate practice questions in a way that 's very close to real NCLEX-RN questions? How would you Saunders questions to questions in Kaplan, Mosby, etc? While preparing for the NCLEX, I realized that questions in my class room is much different from questions in NCLEX.

Sorry for butting in on the thread, but I ordered something called Saunders Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN. ISBN 0721692389 published in 2002. Is that the same thing or similiar?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2228&item=6997605585#stockphoto... This is a picture of the book.
No it is not the same thing you should order the Saunder's comprehensive review.
