I need advice

Published

I am a nursing graduate here in the Philippines, I will be moving to the US in a few months, I never bothered to take the board exam here in the Philippines and figure that I can have someone guide me when I get the Las Vegas, NV.

Now I am confused on what path to take.

Will someone please guide me ?

Do I need to be board certified here in the Philippines to pursuit my Nursing career in Nevada when i get there ?

What steps should I take here within the next few months before I leave for the USA ?

thanks in advance.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Welcome to the site

Moved to the International forum. I would suggest reading the thread/sticky titled Primer to working in the USA. You will need to meet licensure requirements of the BON for foreign trained nurse for NV. You ideally need to start the process now as can take a few months or more before you get permission to sit the exam. Not sure in what capasity you are moving to the US but be aware of retrogression

Nevada also requires the CES and that is done thru CGFNS before they will even look at your application for licensure.

Just have a good read on their website to see all of the requirements that you will need to meet. And definitely start now, or it will be after next fall before you will be able to begin working as an RN. You are looking at months to get all of the procedures done.

As far as having to write the NLE, check with their website, we have seen alot of states starting to require it again.
