good idea is to get away fr nurses station as soon as possible soon do can avoid residents req forcalling kitchen, getting supplies and phones, another idea as i am at fault is i feel cna take advantage of me-- we are freindly and do help eachother- but at times i would help with vitals snacks etc, mow they almost expect it, like what arent you gone do our vitals or snacks

they all leave at 11pm and i as an lpn about 1220pm, i need help with being a true charge nurse and delegating better, for me i go thru treat book beginn of shift flag what i got to do, tx, assess, neb tx, etc. and have just started stopping around 7pm from 1st med pass to do some notes or start 24 hour report, it really is one big med pass, some of the residents will only take meds once so i try to give 5 9 around 7pm only if not a major med. then at end of ****- with all the charting it can be ovr whelming and makes my documentation not using good wording, still looking for documntation made easy and legal, i love my job and hear how other nurses on my hall are always done earlier than i, but i do spend time and at times have been told not to do so-- i just think if it were my mom, and i cant wait for a higher up to question me being late-- i will challenge or follow there routine, so im looking for some good organiz and skills to do it all and get out on time. soory im so wordy 1st time
