I miss my OB rotation

My heart is really in this specialty. Gotta make it through LPN and then RN transition program before I can be my inner OB nurse!

I finish LPN in Oct.. so hopefully I get into the RN transition in jan.. :)

*hugs*

Not trying to burst your bubble -- and I don't know what the policy is where you are, but schools in my area require an LPN to have at least 6 months' experience, plus all the pre-requisites before they can apply to an LPN-RN bridge program. And you've got to apply months in advance.

But I certainly understand your eagerness! I'm also in an LPN(LVN) program and really looking forward to getting into a bridge program and getting the RN education behind me so I can start working in my chosen area, which is pediatrics.

Good luck to you!

I could have written this. My heart is NICU. I finish LPN in June (9 mths 4 days to go but who's counting :lol2:) I plan on working as an LPN for a bit before hitting the bridge program. Hey I have to get my 2 pre reqs out before applying anyway. Both are only offered in one semester (one fall & the other in the spring) so it will be about a year before I could apply anyway.

*hugs* right back at you. Best of luck with your schooling and the "dreaded" NCLEX:lol2:

I dont think its safe to assume someone has a lack of education...

I have all my pre reqs done, and my AA for nursing which has all the classes I need for a bridge program. I also have other degrees which don't apply to nursing, such a film and Biology. Ive already applied to the schools in my area waiting on just my license to finalize my status, and only one of them here has any sort of 6 month requirement.

Planning is a big part of nursing, and I am quite on the ball ;)

Though I do appreciate your concern as I can understand alot of students might not have the initiative to learn all the facts before they get on a bang wagon so thank you for your concern!
