Hey guys! I'm looking to get a new CNA job, but I have a problem. I lost my CNA certificate that says I'm officially a CNA. I don't know my license number or anything, so that doesn't help me. I was wondering if there was a way to get a new certificate? I live in Indiana (I know it varies by state) and I've tried to look up what to do, but websites tell me differently. Thank you in advance for your guys help!

Here is the official website for Indiana Board of Nursing: PLA: Indiana State Board of Nursing
At the very bottom of the page is a link for "search and verify license". Try that and see if it gives you your license number.
Thank you so much I figured out my license number! Do you or anyone else know if I can just print that out and give it to my employer or do I have to get a new one sent to me?
Your license is specific to you and it will not change.

Many employers verify license, certification, etc online. But I've never worked anywhere where I did NOT have to show license physically. Then the employer will copy the original. Also, the copy has the word 'copy' in the background on any copies of the original license.
I second missmollie's idea to go straight to the horses' mouth/state BON. Just be prepared to be patient with waiting for a response from BON. If you do get a new job, just let employer know you are waiting for BON response. This is where the online verification would be good.
good luck!!! :-)

Employers verify the certificate, usually over the internet, but in the past, by phone or fax, in addition to checking your physical certificate (for identifying info). You should print out the information you found and take it with you when applying for jobs. Explain that you are waiting on a replacement certificate. Contact the Board and pay the fee for a replacement certificate. Then, safeguard your certificate!

In Colorado you can get a verify license using your name and address... you can pull up your numbers and everything...

In Indiana, CNAs are licensed through the Health Department not the BON.
Hi guys! Super sorry for the late reply, I took all your guys advice and all I had to do was pay to reprint a certficate from the INgov website. Hopefully it's good enough for employers. Thank you all so much for your help!!
