Hi everyone,
This is my first post, although I have enjoyed this website for quite some time. I am currently in the MSN in Education program at Grand Canyon University. I had planned on interviewing a nurse at the hospital that I work at whom I respect very much. Unfortunately, at the last minute she is unable to take a few minutes for my questions. Is there anyone out there that is willing to just share a few thoughts, pearls of wisdom, benefits of this degree, their career path etc? I am working on a paper and need to turn it in by this evening. What a pickle I am in!

Reach out to other nurse educators in the facility. Reach out to the alumni association for your school. Reach out to nursing faculty at the local nursing school. There are many options that are better than an anonymous website where you cannot verify that anyone holds the credentials they claim to hold. And learn not to leave assignments involving another person to the last minute.
Thank you for making my very first post a negative experience. If you notice, I stated that the person I was interviewing was unavailable. I did ask over a week ago for the interview. Luckily, she got back to me today and I was able to finish my paper. Thanks for making me feel unwelcome and scolding me like I am child.

How are you liking the MSN program at Grand Canyon? I've been thinking of applying. :)
Thank you so much, it is nice to hear from fellow nurses who are supportive of each other! The interview went great, and I was very happy with the paper.
This is my first week in their MSN program, so a little too early to tell yet. I did my BSN with them however, and I really enjoyed the program.

Welcome to nursing, Michelle. You will never meet a nastier group of people. My advice is to find another profession where you will be fulfilled- PT, OT, social work, etc.
