I just want this so bad!!!!

Hey everyone, I just needed a place to vent how I'm feeling currently! I hope you all don't mind that! I have been waiting for a letter and each day all I think about is how bad I want to get in to my school of choice! I keep thinking about how sad I'll get if I don't get in!!! I really hope things work out for me! I know there's lots more of you out there who feel the same as me right now...and that is comforting to me to know I'm not alone! I've got midterms coming up this week in Statistics and Nutrition, and it's very hard to focus on those classes because my mind is consumed with the thoughts of getting into Nursing School!! Maybe ignorance is bliss in this situation?? I sure hope not! Good luck to everyone else out there waiting on a letter just like me!

I am feeling the exact same way. It is so hard not knowing where you will be or what you will be doing next year. I find myself also distracted from my classes because I spend so much time worrying.

I actually watched Patch Adams a few weeks ago and cried through out the whole thing. I related so much to the passion he had to become a a doctor and than on top of my fear of not getting in caused me to cry and cry and cry....sounds pretty lame now but I actually felt better after I watched it. I got a lot of my nervousness out of me (well some of it).

I still have until May to find out if I get in to my school of choice. When do you find out?

Good luck and I hope you get in!!

Hmm maybe I should watch Patch Adams then, too! Hahah it's been ages since I saw that! That stinks you have to wait until May! I don't know if I would have the patience to wait that long, but I applaud you for having it! The nursing advisor at the college I applied to told me they should be mailed out by the first week of March, but does that mean I'll get it this week or next?? Ahhh I just overanalyze everything they've told me....:icon_roll

Good luck to you as you wait, and I bet you'll get in!! Keep in touch and let me know!!! Hopefully I should be finding out within the week! Thanks for the support. Have a great Sunday night!!! :)

I remember being so consumed waiting for that letter as well. It is a good thing, it means you really want it. It seemed like I waited forever and now it seems like it was soooo long ago that I did actually get it, I am half way done with second semester already. I can tell you the wait stinks but before you know it you'll be finishing up the first year of your program and wonder where the time went. Just hang in there (easier said than done, I know.) the letter will be here before you know it.

Can't wait to hear what it says!

It is comforting to hear you say that, Jilaweez! Like I said, I cannot thank everyone enough for being my support through such stressful times. Thank you. :)

I can totally relate as well, every semester I put myself through this cycle of anticipation and dread and I can't believe I am doing this again for the 4th time! I have to say that it does get much harder to accept every semester but I am trying to turn my thought process around this time so that I am not a walking disaster from March to May!

I turned in my app's and they don't close the period until mid April so I am anticipating that I will hear in May.

I am holding good thoughts for all of you!!:D

Good luck to you!!! Maybe 4th time's a charm?! :) Let us all know how it goes! Thanks for your support.

friendlyghost,

i can completely relate to your anxiety. i applied to several schools in north cali 2 adn programs and 2 bsn programs. i got accepted to 1adn program last week, which was pretty unsual, i wasn't expecting to hear anything until earlier end of this month, but, end of feb, they had already finished processing their files, i took the teas test, got my results, and was accepted and offered a position- letter should be arriving this week or early next. the only thing is i am not excited about that school. it is a little distance from where i live, and i would rather limit the stress factors of going to a school that is miles away, in addition to my schoolwork demands.

anyway, the school that i would very much like to hear from, will probably start sending out letters in may :-( can you believe it. the truth is my chances of getting into the school are slim. they required working in a hospital environment, but i have just started volunteering. the prerequisite classes took a good year of my life..long story.

i want to go to the bsn because, i really don't intend on going back to school after this. i am in my early 30s and i want to put formal schooling behind me after a bsn. it's really a tough world out there, but i get anxious about hearing from this school; yes, its comforting that i have been accepted into a school, but we all have a school that we really live for.

wish you all the very best! i will return, hopefully with some positive news! i am not holding out hope, i am hoping that some miracle will happen and i will be called :-) time to celebrate.

Thanks enigma! It's nice to have some support, and I'm here for you too! Congrats on getting into the one program! But I wish you luck on getting into the one you really want!!! I agree about getting the BSN. I'm only 20, but I just want to get my BSN right away, not go back to school for it later on....but that being said, if I didn't have the option to get a BSN now and I did have the option to get ADN, I would definately do it. But, that kind of stinks that you have to wait for that until May to find out! Good luck!!! Let us know what happens!!! :)

Good luck to all of you! I have not even applied yet. But I am sort of studying for the RHIT exam for the Health Information Technology degree I got but can't find a job in that is not enty level. I just want to see if I can pass and have some credentials after my name and maybe inhance my chances of getting into NS.
