Oh no I am so sorry to hear that. At this point all you can really do is keep studying and take it again. You are not the first person who has failed the exam and you wont be the last. Good luck to you and dont give up. Keep trying....

I graduate in 3 weeks and I'll be taking the NCLEX-PN in late summer/early fall.
But I'm sorry to hear you failed. I really don't know what your job is going to do when you don't pass the first time. But I'd call ASAP for another test. Take it again, take it as many times as you need to. You've worked hard in nursing school. Don't even think of giving up!
P.S. I don't know about NCLEX-RN but for us my instructors recommended Saunders. Try it.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that.
Since you took Kaplan, asked for their money back guarantee and use that money to pay for boards again.
If content is your weak area, I recommend Saunders. Go by each body system and do 150-200 questions a day. Also, try the NCSBN question bank. You can purchase 3 week access for $49. I know everyone who studied with that passed on the first try.
I also highly recommend prayer. It certainly doesnt hurt to pray.
You can do this! Good luck to you!

i'm so sorry, rebekkah...
as difficult as it will be, you really need to call your employer and just straight out tell them.
and pamper yourself this weekend.
then take the bull by the horns on monday.
you will pass, i know that.
hang in there, honey.:icon_hug:

Moved to the NCLEX forum
Take a short break to grieve then start again. DO not give up and have a good read in this forum as much in the way of hints/tips and support
Thank y'all so much. I'd definitely try again and study harder ( can't believe i'd be doing this again) But, I'd study harder this time. O Gosh! those darn drugs that i had never heard of.

I'm sorry (((hugs)))
I would take a week off to just relax and try as hard as it is to focus on something different then the NCLEX....I know it will be hard but you need to do that to get in a good mental state to retake it

WOW. My heart really goes out to you. It's like two hits at once, failing NCLEX, then losing a job. UGH. That is bad. I am very sorry.
Here is my advice, for what it's worth. I took Hurst review first. VERY EASY HELPFUL REVIEW OF CONTENT. Excellent content review. Then I took Kaplan to help me break down the questions. Not sure how you studied with Kaplan, but like I was weak in Basic Care and Comfort so I did just Basic Care and Comfort practice questions until I was getting over 60 percent in that area. I read up on the basic care in the Kaplan book too. Kaplan is good to show you what areas you are weak in, then you can practice in those areas. When I did the trainer test 7, I got a 62 overall, and in anaylsis breakdown, I had over 60 percent in every area. That is what you want. The Kaplan book says shoot for over 60 on your tests. That is the goal.
I know it's a lot, but if you can, I would do Hurst and then Kaplan.
By the way, I found out yesterday I PASSED, so I hope this advice helps you! Say LOTS of prayers. Best of luck to you next time.

I used Saunders and the first tip of Suzanne's plan and on my first try I passed my NCLEX-PN. I am currently reviewing Saunders RN as a pre study as I consider returning to complete my RN.
What I am finding most helpful is to determine what my strengths and weaknesses are.
Knowing my strengths builds my confidence, reduces my anxities and reduces that overwhelming feeling of "Oh my gosh, there is soo--- much to study, WHERE DO I BEGIN????
Knowing my weaknesses gives me a starting point and I can focus on what I really need to learn. Then I spend most of my study time and do practice questions to strengthen my weak areas.
Think Positive, Know that you took a very difficult test and you "passed a certain percent of it". Now all you have to do is practice and study to do well on the remainder of it.
Best of Luck
