I HATE the feeling right before an exam!

Published

Just thought I'd say that because . . . I'm going to take an exam . . . momentarily! :uhoh21: The course I'm taking is called Health Science and it is online, it includes A&P and Micro . . . together. I have to take an exam every two weeks or I'll get behind, and I never feel ready. This one is on the nervous system, which is a tough one. Anyway. Wish me luck. I'll be happy to have it over with, but I wish I felt more prepared!

Looking on the bright side - 1) it's multiple choice, so I can usually make educated guesses if I'm not certain and 2) I get my results immediately. I can even see which ones I got wrong and what the correct answers were.

OK, thanks for listening. I'm off!

Good Luck! Let us know how you do!

I took child psych and adult psych online at the college I go to. It was great! I'd write down all the key terms on paper and put the page #'s and if I didn't know the answer, I'd flip to it in the book! :) Granted, we couldn't use our book for every question because the test shut off after 30 minutes but it helped. I got an A in both classes.

I always get a little weak and a twinge of nausea before I start as well.

I feel like I am going to hyperventilate, and then I close my eyes, take a few deep breaths, and tell myself, "You KNOW this!" I skip over WITH CONFIDENCE anything that I don't know immediately, and concentrate on the easy questions...many times I have found that they jolt my memory on the ones that I don't know.

So far, the plan has worked.

Single nostril breathing is WONDERFUL to relieve some stress and help you focus. You should do about 5 rounds, 10 breaths each, for it to be effective. The more you do, the better it helps.

Also, remember to breath during the exam so your brain gets some much needed O2.....

Oh, lucky . . . ours doesn't work that way, I have to go to the college testing center for the exams . . . no open book!

Anyway . . . I got a 78, not great, but could be worse. I think my average is a high B so the A is still within reach . . . but I've gotta do better on the future exams! I still think the nervous system is one of the harder ones!

Thanks all!
