I am SO excited! I am going to be a New Grad in L&D, woohoo!!! I was told that they usually hire their externs but I was still a bit unsure. Yesterday I received the official phone call offering me the job. Of course I said YES! She even said I could start early (right after graduation) or I could start with the group on Jan 7th. I told her I would think about it.
Just wanted to share my excitement!! My first real job as an RN!

Congrats, I too went straight into L/D after graduation, it is tough to learn how to be a nurse AND a L/D nurse at the same time, but possible and WONDERFUL !! Dont be afraid to ask questions, it will be a long time before you feel like standing on your own two feet but stay with it, take it all in ,YOU'LL LOVE IT !!!
