I took my test on Tuesday. I ended up with 265 questions. I found out yesterday that I failed. I guess I am taking it better than I expected. I just feel that I am the only one, and that I am not good enough.
I guess I am just looking for some words of encouragement.
It hurts to think that I could be calling myself a RN now, but I cannot. I know I have to wait 45 or 90 days to re-take it. It is going to be a long summer of studying.

God works in ways we cant see....Take a rest for a week before you prepare yourself again in reviewing..

hi~
i too failed not once but 3 times....the first 2 times i had all 265, the most recent i had 99...talk about failure! i struggled big time especially seeing all my classmates pass (i am happy for them)...but seeing everyone pass and here i was failing....was humiliating and quite embarassing...but this website has been incredible in all of the encouragement and support. just last month i picked up studying more extensively and now am almost done completing suzanne's 1st tip...and it was a great review to say the least. i took notes from the chapters, redid the chapters i didn't do so well on, and was amazed at some of the chapters i did really well on because i didn't think i would do great. i truly believe if you have succeeded nursing school, then you are capable of sitting for the nclex and passing. it may not be the 1st attempt with everyone, but eventually you will have a nursing license and be a rn. i hope you don't give up and take a break before you start to study and prepare again. just study as if it will be the "first" time your testing. thats how i am preparing this time with the help of suzanne and her plan. thanks for listening. i do wish you the best and remember all things are possible. :)

katielee don't ever give up......remember why you persued nursing school and no matter how hard it got you still made it through.....let that be your inspiration to to retake and pass so that you can become the rn that you were trained and destined to be......take a break and relax maybe you should try a different study guide ie: suzanne's plan. everyone that i knew who took it, saw passing results(just a little suggestion!) just remember ! the hardest part was getting threw nursing school and you did that so give yourself some credit.....you'll be just fine! good luck to you and keep us updated on your progress.

Katielee you ARE good enough. You are not the only one who's ever taken the NCLEX and not passed. It happens..it sucks that it happens but it does. Don't let this pitfall stop you in persuing your dreams of nursing.
Grieve in whatever way will get you through, then pick yourself, dust yourself off and hit those books.
You can do this, but only with positive thoughts. Negativity tends to sabatoge people. You made it through nursing school and all its trials and tribulations, this test is nothing more than all that rolled into one. You have the knowledge, you have the critical thinking skills, you can do it.
So sorry to hear you didn't pass. (((((((katie))))))

katielee- it is the most stressful time i also went through to take that test and then even more agonizing to wait for the results. i'm so sorry to read that you failed, but like everyone has said, take some time, regroup, and go get it. you CAN do it and just think- although you won't get the same questions, you have the experience. you've seen the test, you know what to expect (style), and you will know where you need to prepare to pass it on the second try. if you felt prepared before you took it, you just have to ask yourself what, if anything, you would have done differently. take a breather. at least the weekend to regroup, on monday, find out when you can retest and then start planning how you will study, what you will study, and how you can mentally prepare to get those initials behind your name. i can recommend kaplan as i found the questions to be harder than the test itself! i felt confident when i left the test center and kept saying i would not have done anything differently. so, please don't feel like you're not good enough, trust me, i'm sure some of our beloved nursing instructors also failed, and i'm sure of the thousands of nurses in the world, many have taken this exam more than once. regroup, refresh, and go get it...you didn't suffer through nursing school to stop here. it's a set back...and a warped way of looking at it means you get an extended summer break. i don't know you, but i have all the confidence in the world you will do well. just think of how you become a cheerleader when one of your pts starts to come around (i work in an icu) and that awesome feeling you get b/c you had something to do with that...just keep thinking, that is the feeling you need to have to go in and take this exam. my best to you. om

I took mine on 7/8 and found out I failed with 75 questions. I feel your pain. Try to hang in there and not be so hard on yourself. I'm trying...I'm hoping that I pass the second time. Good luck to you!

Believe me, you are not alone. I feel your pain and know what you are going thru. I'm glad you are taking it well, because there is no sense in moping around worrying about it as there is nothing we can do about it now except to pass this next time. I work as a secretary where I was going to be a nurse and it hurts bad to have to tell people that keep asking if i passed. It just wasn't our time, and maybe there is a reason it happened. I got 265 questions and failed unfortunately. One of my friends failed as well, and we are going to study together and get thru this together. I hope you have a supportive family that is there for you, that's the only way I got thru. I'm glad you want to retest, don't give up, you can do it.
