I failed the Hesi for the 2nd time

Published

So I failed my Hesi A2 Entrance exam :(. At this point I'm a little discouraged about getting into nursing school, since most of the major universities in Houston wont accept you if have take the exam more than twice! Do any of you have advice on what i should do? Thanks in advance, God Bless!!!

Don't give up and good luck. We hope you enjoy allnurses.com.

Advice? Don't give up. You can do it! Don't feel discouraged, just by reading your post I can tell you are very willing and passionate about nursing! You know what they say, where there is a will there is a way. There are other options when it comes to applying for nursing schools just check around and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Thanks! I will definitely not give up. Just feels that i have to start from the bottom again.

Have confidence! You should be able to print out a review guide by going on the eleveiser (sp?) website by logging in and going to your test. It'll tell you what you missed and also let you know how you did in relation to everyone else in your testing group. You'd be suprised that both exams may have been hard for everyone else also.

Did you you use the study guide to study and what sections did you score lowest in?

I used the Hesi Evolve Elsevier study book and I scored low in AP

Definitely study that book^ it helped me big time I was able to score in the 90% range after studying that book in and out !

Are there specific areas you need to improve on or are you looking for overall advice? I took the HESI twice but did not have to take physics either time. As far as A&P goes, I would say you definitely need to study something other than just the HESI Evolve book because it doesn't cover enough. I purchased A&P Made Incredibly Easy and also used Quizlet which I found really helpful. There are also some good websites, just try googling HESI A2 Practice test. Did you have to take any pre-reqs before taking your HESI? If so, review the basics from those textbooks. Good luck and don't give up!
