In my health class and also my healing class, I have an instructor who has mounds of knowledge....however....she is trying to teach us health promotion and that we should be very concious of how we look as our patients will not take us seriously if we treat our bodies like crap. This woman, although a mountain of fabulous knowledge, does not practice what she preaches. She typically looks like she just rolled out of bed, has a very apparent eating disorder as she eats for he entire 6 hours she teaches us, ad judging by her weight, this may happen at home too. She just doesnt look like she takes care of herself at all. Anyone have an opinion on this?? I'm really struggling with what to think here....I realize I need to focus on the teaching, but many of us in the class think she is a hipocrate. It's frustrating

Focus on the teaching. Take what you can and leave the rest.

you need to be aware that instructors are working at jobs where they are assigned by a boss to teach classes that are a part of a curriculum. many times they have no voice in what they are assigned to teach or the curriculum of the course they are assigned to teach. you might consider that her boss thought it was "funny" to assign her this class thinking she might learn something about getting healthy herself.
