I had the most AMAZING nurses today

Published

I had to have a liver biopsy today and the nurses who took care of me were AMAZING. I was anxious about this for about 2 weeks but they treated me so nicely and I actually had a pleasant experience. I received versed and fentanyl for the procedure and the nurse that started the IV actually got it in on the first try and for a change there was not nasty bruising. The techs and the doctor were also great. When I got home I sent an email to the hospital saying how great everyone was and made a point to mention the nurses by name.

They were running behind and a little rushed but they still managed to be nice and make it comfortable for us patients. One of them has been a nurse for 30 years-so much for the "crusty old Bat" label a lot of them get. He was such a super sweet person.

That versed and fentanyl were so nice........................ I felt like the girl in 16 Candles who took too much valium before her wedding. I didn't feel no pain.

I believe most healthcare workers want their patients to feel as you did. Professional care makes all the difference in the experience. Hope your test has good results!

Yeah, one of the techs asked me how I was doing after I received the meds and I told her that-they all thought it was hysterical. As for the liver biopsy, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was just a funny experience.
