Hi everyone! So I failed the nclex the first time in June with 265 questions and was near the passing standard on every section but one. I purchased the Saunders book to review and helpful flash cards.
I did do kaplan and loved the questions which I plan on doing again.
My question is-- is hurst worth it/ helpful?!?
Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks!!

Hi,
I was actually in the same situation as you. Back in May, I took the NCLEX and failed after taking all 265 questions. And was near passing in all the categories. I did the hurst review and kaplan q bank the second time and did about 50 to 100 questions a night and reviewed all my questions and read the rationales. And I passed in 75 questions :) With hurst, I love that they were content review but you have to make sure you do questions as well so that you can build up your critical thinking skills. Also, I used a kaplan strategy book. Hopes this helps. And don't give up. You can do it!

I failed the 1st time in 75 and passed the 2nd in 75... I just posted a topic on it: https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/why-hurst-key-850169.html#post7483168
In short, I did Kaplan and had above 70 on my qbanks. 3.5 GPA. And failed in 75. Hurst was a god send.. neatly wrapped up all of the madness we are required to read into one large understandable document, that connects every system so you truly get cause and effect. I'd do it for sure..

Not to bash Hurst review or anything, but personally I do think it's not a good review for the NCLEX...I did NCSBN, Saunders and LaCharity and all three were very efficient and helped me during the exam...so that's that...good luck to you, you can do it!

I did hurst review the first time and studied my butt off and failed. I passed a couple weeks ago and had used Saunders for content and kaplan for strategies.

I knew Hurst like the back of my hand & still failed. Everyone is different but it didn't work for me

Hurst reviews are great!! It was just what I needed. The online content is very good too. I wish I would have had the review while I was in school it would have helped so much.
