Hurry up and wait. The dreaded wait for acceptance : )

Published

Well, I just turned in my application for the nursing program to the addmissions office. I will not hear back from them until April. I think I have a pretty good shot. I have a 4.0 gpa, scored a 95.33% overall on the Hesi, and an 800 on the critical thinking. I got my first Hep B shot yesterday in anticipation of acceptance.

Now I just need to forget about it and focus on doing well this semester. Yeah, like I'm going to be able to forget about it. : )

Wishing everyone well and good luck on gaining entrance into their program! : )

If you are still taking classes that will help you keep your mind off of the wait... If you don't have any courses to take, try doing a Spanish for healthcare providers class or maybe get your CPR certification.. I had classes to take during my wait which helped a lot. I did have trouble focusing at first because I was so excited to be applying, but eventually I remembered I needed to keep up the good work in order to be ready for my opportunity to get in.... I didn't want a C in my current semester to stop me from continuing...

I'm in the same boat as you, I wont know until late March, but I'm pretty sure I got in. Im going for my ADN so right now im taking classes towards my BSN. So far I have been able to focus on the task at hand, but I get so excited thinking about how my dreams are coming true. Good Luck with your wait.

The waiting game is killing me too! It is so hard to focus on this semester of school, especially since I am done with pre-reqs and all. I am taking a CNA course to help prepare myself and keep my mind off of waiting for acceptance. It is driving me nuts though because it makes me not be able to sleep! I get too excited thinking about it! And nervous at the same time...

The application deadline isn't until March 1st here, so I have to wait until May for acceptance (or not). That's a good idea about taking CPR and such, maybe I'll do that while I wait.

I'm gonna be taking a CNA class too, over the summer. I just can't believe everything is over for me.... 3 years of pre-reqs and now I can finally put it all behind me and just pray for my acceptance letter. Its a weird feeling... can't describe it.

Oh yeah, and try to learn Spanish fluently over the summer too! Taking a Spanish for Health care providers is a great idea! :)

You all may also want to consider taking a medical terminology class while you play the waiting game

I already took one, but thats a good idea for those of you who have not. I learned alot in that class.

I am actually in a med term class right now. I am really learning a lot already! I-JUST-WANT-TO-START-NURSING-SCHOOL

I am going CRAZZZYYY!

:hdvwl:

Turned in my application a while ago and the deadline is on Feb 1. Probably wont hear anything till the middle of March or later. Im pretty sure im going to be accepted, but the wait sucks.

Im taking no classes and have no job, lol. Its basically my Summer vacation since I took classes over summer.

I would have taken a medical terminology, but it'd cost like 300 dollars and its not required so I didnt.

I got my CPR certification yesterday and it was only one class for like 3 hours so Im done with that. I've run out of stuff to do for the program.

I should probably review my A&P book from time to time.

LOL. I know the wait sucks but I don't think I would read any of the books that I still have from my pre-reqs for fun. Relax and try to get your mind off of school alittle =).
