Hey all,

I was wondering if any Hunter students received notice in regards to interview dates, acceptance, or non-acceptance. I read on the Hunter website that interviews will be held next week, but I thought emails or letters would have gone out this week. I am a nervous wreck. Can anyone shed some light?

Hey!

I received an email today saying:"You have been selected to participate in an admission interview for the Generic Pathway Nursing program at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing.Your presence is requested on Tuesday, May 3rd at 12:30 PM."

So does anybody know what this is all about? What are they going to ask us?

Did anybody get an email saying that they have been accepted?

I'm so freaked out...

yamaha85, did you apply to the generic or accelerated program?

Hello all.

Yea I've heard some people (generic) got emails for interviews. They will most likely ask questions that test the quality of students. Things like "Why do you want to become a nurse?"

hey, jaydani!

i applied to the generic.

so i'm assuming nobody got any acceptance/non-acceptance letters yet, right?

I wonder who they are choosing to interview, if it's just random or to help narrow things down some more...

To Yamaha85 can you please tell us what your gpa and nln score was? I heard from a friend that most of the interviews will be conducted in mid-may. I currently have a 3.69 gpa and a nln score of 141 and I'm worried that I won't get in... This waiting process is sooo draining.

Mid-May?? On the website it says admission decisions and interviews will be conducted the first week of May. If interviews were done mid-May, admissions decisions might not be until around June. That would be really late. Where did your friend get the info? That would be even more nerve wracking to have to wait until June.

Hi alinasept. My friend directly emailed maria mendoza and I believe that is what she said. I'm confused too as to how the whole acceptance process is supposed to work out :/.

OK guys, there's a link to a post made by the Dean. Post number 98. It clears up all of this. So no random selection and no interview doesn't necessarily mean you didn't get in. Also, decisions made within a few days from now.

"Dear Applicants,

For the accelerated program, the 50 applicants with the highest composite score are being interviewed in a group format; for the generic program, candidates from the rank of 80 through 120 are being interviewed. The questions are not the same as last year, but will center on life experience and academic history. Interviews are being held Monday through Thursday of this week, and emails with decisions will be sent on Friday and Monday. There have been no delays in the admission process. When information came in from Nursing CAS, interviews were scheduled. Good luck to all."

I think your chances of getting in are great. I have some friends that got interviews that applied to generic with scores lower than yours. My guess is that youre probably are in. I don't know for sure but we do find out tomorrow. I'm excited/nervous.
