2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I just got a rejection email and I got a signed contract from Jamie King -- if that's any help ? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

@newgradin30s did you double check who it was from? Did you apply just to nurse corps? I’m only asking because I got a rejection from NHSC today, freaked out and then reread it and realized it was from the wrong one.

Oh my gosh -- wow you are so right!! I actually applied to NHSC as well and yes it is a rejection to that program not Nurse Corps but OMG this program has me in knots!

so I read that they will pay the people who are renewing their contacts first, then they will pay the people who have finished school, then they will pay the students if chosen. I hope after paying all these folks they have enough money to go around for us students trying to make it.

I think I have checked my email, the Nurse Corps website, and this site every 2 to 3 hours each day. At this point it is what it is. But I know I will not let it keep me from focusing on class and upcoming exams any longer ?

we just have to “let go and let God handle this” we got this y’all! Remember... accepted or not, for this scholarship, will NOT change the future Nurses we WILL be. Saying a prayer for all of us. Let’s keep our heads high ????❤️☺️??
