2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

Congratulations everyone who received a counter sign. That is fantastic!

I find myself giving up hope. I don’t want to feel so negative but it’s hard not too. I’m already $75000 is debt from my first degree and this would have helped me a lot.

First of all, congrats to everyone who received signatures! Question... did anyone ever figure out why some people who received counter-signatures last year end up not receiving the scholarship? Was it due to lack of adequate funding? Again congrats :).

I thought I did see that in previous posts.. That signatures might not make it official. I might call the hotline and see what it means.

Hi all,

I just called the hotline. She told me that nothing is official until an email comes saying "congrats! you're a participant" but that it's a good sign? I asked when emails usually come and she said definitely by Sept 30.... The wait continues...

I don't have a FB but it's been so helpful to read all your posts here. Praying for us all!

Okay thanks for doing that. I’m still going to run with the “didn’t win yet or probably won’t” narrative even though I got a counter sign to lessen the blow of a potential fallout.

still nothing on my end. No credit check or emails. Sounds like there won’t be no new finalist emails going out. Were they sending new finalists email up til September 30th last year?! I just can’t get how someone can be in review status that long??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️

Yeah. They were doing finalist emails until late September. Someone got a finalist email on the 24th
