I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?

I think many of us are aware of that and we have looked at other threads and we have also talk to staff that work for HRSA. We know that it’s not guaranteed but we also know that the staff said that the major factor in people not receiving it after becoming a finalist are discrepancies from their application and issues with credit checks. Goodluck!

I am so nervous because does a finalist mean we should expect it or we’re just being considered? I have so much money due in a few weeks and took out loans to cover my tuition and a payment plan for the rest so I’d like to know before September! I know everyone else feels the same. Maybe because it’s due in the next few days we’ll know soon?
I called them and the password counsel as the electronica signature so don’t sweat that. As far as everything else there’s no guarantee but you have a better chance if there are no discrepancies between your application and what you send in, and if there are no issues with your credit. If you’re okay with the possibility of paying back those loans then I would take it out now because we don’t know maybe not even until September unfortunately.

I honestly don't know, but I don't think it holds a very heavy weight, I think they consider everything. My GPA was exactly 3.36.

What do you mean by issues with credit check? If they checked it and I received the finalist email, does this mean I am fine since they already checked? or will they check again?

I have no clue. I received the credit check after I got my finalist notification. I’d imagine if they found out after they selected me that I defaulted on a loan (which I haven’t) that that would be an issue.

The person I spoke to said it’s okay to get excited about it if everything matches and the credit check doesn’t find anything. Hope that helps!

You need to sign the W4. After you fill out and upload those docs, you’ll get to the contract page. The contract is where the password counts as the electronic signature. Definitely sign the w4 though!
