HRSA Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2022

Published

Hi everyone. Just starting this since I didn't see a thread for this application cycle. I received the NCLRP in 2009 and this is the 3rd time applying in the last 5 years.

NP with DTI ~150% and HPSA 17

How are y’all finding these jobs! I’m a new grad and have been looking into this and I’ve looked on the HRSA connector and there are facilities (very few) but no jobs! There was 1 job and it was considered rural in which will be 5hrs away from where I will be living. I’m soon moving to Virginia and open to nurse corp jobs in Virginia or Washington DC. But it’s been hard trying to seek a job that is elegible for this program. Any feedback from y’all is appreciated considering recruiters don’t respond back LOL

We have lots of open positions, including for new grads at my hospital if you're willing to come to the west coast!

I’m leaving the west coast ? WestLA specifically and there are soo many opportunities here and heartbreaking to see since I’m planning to move. I’m actually considering even doing a new grad program here with the VA or nurse corp and work for a year or so and try to transfer back to the east coast to be with my husband. He got a new job transfer hence the move ?

I just did this. They said they would notify the department and to call them back in 5 days.

update:

They sent me a new COI to accept or deny.  I accepted.  Got to the last page of signing the contract and it will not go through when I hit submit.  I have tried so many times.  However, when I logged back in it says "award accepted under final review".  So not jumping up and down just yet - but hopeful.

Does anyone know how this is going to work with the student loan forgiveness Biden just passed?

I am assuming they will reduce by what Biden has passed and then pay monthly, but I am not sure?

I actually asked about this when I called, and the woman I spoke to told me they actually don't know yet ? she was like "your guess is as good as mine, we haven't been given any guidance yet."

I am just hoping that we can receive that and this and get us closer to be paid off or even paid off.
I plan to be working at my location for a while, so promising time still doesn’t bother me.

from what I read it looks like HRSA pays monthly, based on your over all award decided by 2 years?
