3 12-hr nights and day care - ?

Hi,

Anyone work 3 12 hour nights and use day care while you sleep? If so, what hours do you have them there? Is your day care flexible as far as child being there different days every week, some long days some short days etc? Just trying to see how others do it, and how your experiences have been. Thanks.

When I did nights, my daughter did daycare so I could sleep. I am useless as a mother and a caregiver with no sleep. And dangerous, might I add, so she went at first for 2 days a week while I slept. Eventually I switched jobs and she went 5 days a week and has been doing that for over a year now. her father dropped her off on the nights I worked and he had her, and I would pick her up aorund 4:30, 5pm. I woke up around 3 and would get stuff done, like grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning before I picked her up. It worked well.

Thank you! Doing only 2 days, did you work 3 nights? I would think I would need 3 or 4 days so that I could sleep. Did you just deal with a lack of sleep the other days?

In all my years being a working mom this is the first time I need to look into day care. Nursing jobs usually work out but this time I need to unless I work all weekends.
