I've been studying for my NCLEX-RN using Exammaster online and also Saunders Review. I may invest in Kaplan review course. My question is-how do I know when I am ready for the NCLEX? I am assuming if I do Kaplan, they have a pre and post-test that will give me an idea of how ready I am. I feel ready in most areas except pharmacology and drug interactions. Any comments?

People never feel that they are ready. When you have given sufficient effort to all areas, and you feel you could pass a regular "school" test on the subject matter, go for it. Good luck.

i would say if you have the time/money to invest in kaplan - do it!! i did kaplan and did all that they tell you to do (mad a study plan for myself, did all 7 question trainers, and i did 100% of the q-bank) and knew i was ready to test once i got over a 65% on question trainer 7. i passed the nclex with 75 questions... kaplan was honestly my savior. best of luck!

You will never ever feel as though you are ready, know your basis content, and then practice questions and review rationales, even if you got the answer right. I did Hurst Review, and that was a life saver. Before Hurst, I was scoring in the 40 - 50% range, now I am scoring in the 70 - 80% range consistently. Even with alternative questions.
Simply be robust in your revision, and try not to jump from book to book. Get a comprehensive book (Saunders Q &A), LaCharity for Prioritization and a Review course of your choice, and let those be your bible. Give the books a chance to prove their worth. As you get down to the last couple of weeks, consistently answer questions each day.
Good luck.......
