hey everyone! i've been reading a lot about how long it takes to get into nursing programs through out the u.s. does any one know the average wait time to get into an rn program in nc? there are 5 programs within an hour drive of me and i am seriously thinking about applying to all of them. three of the schools are in a consortium. i am not sure if they compare notes when students apply-does any one know? any advice or thoughts are welcome!!

i know that in western north carolina - the community colleges have at least a 1 year wait, if not longer. the university system ( western carolina university) does not have a waiting list that i know of. many of the nurses that are on the waiting list for the 2 year program are now applying for the bsn program with western and getting accepted. i do not believe that schools share enrollment information with each other unless you are a transfer student. besides, plenty of people are enrolling into several programs with the hope of being accepted into one of them without having to wait for 1-2 years.
good luck and post again to let us know if you got enrolled.
