I attempted to take the written paper Pax test in Feb 2011 and failed the verbal part. I have been studying vocab words from SAT and using freerice.com to get used to vocab words. I been out of high school for 20 years. Ive been looking at all kinds of words from SAT tests and use the PAX study guide (red book) to familiarize myself. I found out you only get two chances now to pass this test. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to study for this test? Also if I do end up failing again what are my options as I work full-time during the day?

Studying for verbal is tricky. You can make flash cards and review them until you are blue in the face, but it really is a crap shoot as to which words will be on the actual exam.
If all else fails, is there another nursing program you are interested in, which doesn't require the PAX?
