Hi, how soon should I call the nurse manager of a unit if I applied for a job on the unit and shift that i precepted on (to let her know i applied/am interested/etc.)? I applied yesterday, and the job was posted the day before. Should I just call today to let her know i applied and am interested or wait till...Monday (that'll be the third business day) so that she has had more time to review the applications?

Thanks

Dude! I would have been asking him/her about it "during" the preceptorship about a job!! Call her yesterday!

...Or at least send an email saying "Hi NM this is jo. I precepted on your unit (when) and was excited to see a position open on the unit.... blah blah blah..... I filled out an app. when can I expect to hear back from you?"

Good job! It's always a good idea to contact the nurse mgr, just in case they didn't connect the name on the resume/application to the person who precepted on their unit.
