Good day:

What are the steps to become a PCT?

If the steps vary by state, I'm in PA (almost in between SE and NE).

Thank you.

I'm Texas, you can take a CNA class and work as a PCT. Also, once you finish your first semester of nursing school you qualify as a PCT.

Here in VA there is a hospital based school that offers it. They call it the Care Partner program, you learn Care Partners are members of a discipline that combines the quality of caring with technical interventions, communication, and knowledge integration to support the nurse in the delivery of quality client care in an acute care setting. They help patients with daily living activities such as bathing and eating. Care Partners also take vital signs, draw blood specimens, perform wound care and dressing changes, insert urinary catheters, perform EKGs, and other selected medical test/procedures."

They are in high demand in this part of the country! :)
