Hi all! I recently received an email to come in for the new grad residency interview but I am a little confused about how the process works. In the email it says that after the interview, if you are selected (which I understand is very competitive) then you will have orientation for 12 weeks and THEN have the chance to interview for the actual position. That seems to be a huge risk to take. Are you paid during the orientation time? How likely is it to get the job once the orientation is done? Or is the orientation part somewhat like I third round of interviews?? Thank you for the help!!

Perhaps ask your questions of the facility for a 100% accurate, dependable answer.

Agreed. Also, consider posting in your state forum next time when it comes to a specific hospital. You may get more responses that way.

Hi kaycarlson,
I actually was offered the position and have been orienting to the rotation units at CHOP. The program had changed from what was originally offered but it is still all great! Basically we rotate through three different units and at the end they match us to one but we have the chance after another 3 months to apply to a different unit if we are wanting something different. The program changes every year though so if you are interested, there is a great chance it could be different by the time they release new residency applications.

Oh congrats! That sounds like a really nice residency set-up. I just had my video interview with CHOP today so I'm hoping to make it to the ext round! Thanks for the information.
