I will say it depends on how you feel about yourself in terms of knowing the material. Some people study for a month others for 2-3 months depends. You take an assessment test see how you are doing study study and learn the test estrategies do a lot of questions and answers and test yourself again to see how you compare from the 1st assessment test.

Only you know how you feel about how well you know the material. Did you take any readiness tests while you were still in school? If you did, then how you did on them is a good indication of how much effort you need to start with. I would take the practice tests that came with your study resources, and gauge my readiness from them. We also recommend doing Suzanne's plan using the Saunders text. You can read about it in the stickies at the top of this forum. Good luck.

yes I have took assements and I always end up with 61%-70% I always second guess myself between the 2 best answers and I dont know alot about meds unless my patients was on them I want to test in feb but Im getting scared and think I might wait to march:cry:

Should not be more than three hours per day or your brain does not retain.

Cramming does not work for this exam for most people. And then you are memorizing and not learning, the worst thing that you can do to prepare for this exam in my opinion.

i studied 2-3 hours a night for about a month and a half. i think it was actually a little overstudying. i just re-read alot of my notes from school on each subject and then did the kaplan book and CD rom. i also did a book of flashcards that were very helpful.

Don't cram, don't memorize. It's all stuff you should know from nursing school. Everyone will be different in how they feel about how much time they need. A guideline would be 1-3 hours a day. Also equally important is eating right and getting enough rest/sleep so you can retain what you are reveiwing. Be sure to take a break the day before the exam. If you're asking how many months, weeks, etc to study, again, it is am individual thing and would be based on your comfort/readiness level. Don't forget to practice questions and know the rationals for the answers. Good luck.
