6. what do you like about your job? the mental health field, the experience i am gaining
7. what don't you like about your job? management, the task-oriented nature of nursing, lack of respect from other disciplines

I love taking care of my patients I like my coworkers and what I dont like is how people in society have no idea what nurses do and they think we do nothing for the money we make.
1. What is your degree in? BSN
2. What state do you live in? Ohio
3. What is your job title? Float Nurse
4. How much do you make an hour? 7 1/2 years experience, $ 28.76/hr, $1.25 shift dif after 1500. Awesome benefits and PUBLIC retirement. For any extra 6 hour shift I pick up, I get $100 incentive. For 12 hours, I get $250.
5. How much do you make a year?
Over 50K
Things I like: I really, really love my job. Truly. I enjoy working in all the different areas, it breaks up the monotony. Also, if there is ever a chance I would have to take call, I can pick up in any department that needs help instead!
Things I don't like: The nit picking that goes on, but honestly that's everywhere. I also can't stand working with big a-hole doctors, although thankfully I've only had that happen once :)
I don't like working holidays much, the big ones I mean. I never used to care, but now that I have a little one, I'd rather be at home, you know? But I get double time on 10 different holidays / year, so I really can't complain.

I like the challenge of the job and the teamwork with most of my co-workers, and the collaboration with fellow nurses and doctors in the ED.
I dislike having to deal with drama and willful ignorance, and management who don't really care about their employees.
this is a touchy subject for some people on here. i have responded before and been flamed for it but oh well......
1. what is your degree in? adn and ba in psych(had it 8 years before nursing but never used it....useless degree)
2. what state do you live in? tx
3. what is your job title? rn (operating room circulator/scrub ct & cvor, ability to do any service line though)
4. how much do you make an hour? $38
5. how much do you make a year?2010 gross was $124k 2009 was $128k, i work about 5 hours a week ot on average and take call every day as long as i am not on vacation.... i live 5 minutes from the hospital so it really doesnt bother me to get called in. if i make plans i do it in advance and get coverage. otherwise i get paid to live and dont mind coming to work if i am on heart call, dont mind taking the phone calls if i am on admin call....
6. what do you like about your job? ability to take vacation with pay for 6-8 weeks a year, health benifits, high stress, high technical aspects of or and the equipment you must know so you dont kill someone. the team atmosphere that happens in the or regardless of peoples feelings about one another....
7. what don't you like about your job? i hate administrative bs but went back to being staff nurse rather than manager so i would not have to deal with all that nonsense..... i hate dealing with "nurses" in admin that have 0 nursing experience or real life experience... there are a few good ones but there are few and far between....
1. what is your degree in? associate of applied science (associates rn)
2. what state do you live in? texas
3. what is your job title? rn (charge nurse ltc)
4. how much do you make an hour? $25
5. how much do you make a year? roughly $60k
6. what do you like about your job? i work 12 hour shifts, so theoretically, i should get lots of days off *yeah right!*, i really love a few of my patients.
7. what don't you like about your job? lack of supplies, too much work for too few employees, terrible co-workers that they wont fire, always called on my days off to ask me to work more overtime
overall, i dont regret my decision to become a nurse, but i cant wait until i get enough experience to get a hospital job and finally specialize in the area i really want to be in. right now i am just trudging though the days, putting my time in before i can move up.

I like that I'm working with the patient population that I love (peds) and that I only work weekend shifts so I have mon-fri to myself.
I totally dislike the somewhat high school environment that is my floor (cliques, slight favoritisim, catty behavior:argue:). Am woring on my FNP so hopefully that will decrease.
