Hi Everyone,
I applied to the ADN program at Gulf Coast CC in Panama City, FL this past Feb and recieved a rejection letter in March . The Health Sciences Dept does not inform the student of the exact reasons why he/she was rejected but I was told by my nursing advisor that it was "most likely" because I only had A&P I completed (along w/ the basics like Eng & Math). So this time around, I will have 4 more classes under my belt, which includes A&P II, Dev Psych, Nutrition, and Sociology, when I put my application in in Sept for the Jan 09 class. The only class I will be lacking is Microbio, which is not required to be completed before entering the nursing program; it can be taken along w/ other nursing courses and I was going to take it this fall anyway. I scored an 89.3 on the HESI and have maintained a 4.0 GPA w/ the classes I have taken at GCCC and I also earned a 4.0 GPA w/ my BSBA. So, I would hope that I have a better shot at getting in this time, but I'm not feeling as optimistic about it as I would like to. I don't know why, maybe it's because I want it so badly! Has anyone else recieved rejection letters and was eventually accepted?
Thanks for taking the time read/respond
