How many people are taking their Pre-Reqs?

Published

I was just wondering how many people were taking their pre-reqs for the nursing program.. I don't see a lot of people talking about that. I would love to know who like me is trudging through those classes this fall and winter. I would love to meet some friends that we will be going through similar classes. So I will tell you all a little bit about me then it is your turn. I am almost 37 years old a mother of two beautiful little girls ages 9 and 5 I am married and I will be finished with all of my pre-reqs this fall and winter. I am going to Wayne State University, hopefully I will be getting my Masters Degree eventually. In my spare time so we all know that means only when I am not in school, :chuckle My daughters and I go out riding our horses we each have one so we have a lot of fun. I am looking forward to getting back into school so that I am working towards the goals that I set for myself and my family. I would love to hear from you all lets set up a support team for each other.

I just finished my pre-reqs this last term. I am at Baker... waiting to hear if I got into the program. I am a 38 yo mom of (4). They are (10 forever) or would be 14, 6, 4, 3 (will be mine we are adopting her), 1.

I plan to go on after I finish as well. If I don't get in this term, I plan to take the classes to get my CNA certificate at Baker. But I am hopeful of starting the program in the fall.

You can find many posts on this subject in the student section, in the pre-nursing forum.

I just finished my pre-reqs last semester at WCCCD and am now going to be taking classes towards my BSN this coming fall before starting the nursing program (hopefully) this winter term. Once I complete my associates in nursing I will be going to WSU for my BSN...Or at least those are my intentions.

I am a 30 yr old married mom of one. My daughter is 11 and going on 35.. Gotta love these pre-teen years! We spend a lot of time together. In the summer we try to go to our family's cabin up north as much as possible and on weekends we like going out on my mother's boat and spending the day swimming,bbq'n...the typical summer fun with the family I guess! We haven't ridden horses in what seems like forever, but it sure sounds fun!

I'm still doing my pre-reqs! I will be finished after the Fall semester.. I am sooo excited.

I am currently 20 years old and going to OCC (I really hope I get accepted the first year!). I messed around the first year after I graduated high school, but I am so thankful I buckeled down and got back on track - if I never skipped a year, I could've been in the nursing program already! (Woulda, coulda, shoulda, right? :trout:)

I too, am aspiring to get my masters in nursing. I currently shadowed a CRNA and went to a meeting at Beaumont, and it is the most exhilarating thing I have ever experienced in my life!

What type of masters are you getting?

Good luck to you with your pre-reqs. Let me know how the Wayne State nursing program is! :)

i am taking bio 105 @ davenport right now and will do a&p1 w lab in the fall. winter i"ll take a&p2 w lab and also have to take hesi. once those are done i can apply to the program! Gpa is 50% OF GETTING IN... i worry because this bio seems sooooooooooooooo hard to me. also, 600 people apply for only 30 slots!

I am still working on my pre-reqs, I have 5 more to go after this semester.:uhoh3:

I have all but 1 pre req done. I will be taking that in the winter since it wasn't avaliable when i could get to school. I am also taking classes for my Bachelors. I am planning on going to wayne or Oakland for that. I am on the waitlist at Henry Ford community now. I have 3 kids ages 16,14,9 and I am 35.

Hi Im trying to get in my classes. Cant get money for pre-req's from NWLB so I dont know if Im going to continue this fall. I need to find the money first, didnt get money from FASFA and dont have any of my own.

How are the rest of you paying for school? I need some help.

I'm on the waiting list at hfcc but I still have about 4 more prereqs to take. I'm taking a&p1 this fall. In winter I'll take a&p2 and pysch, life span and development. I'm very excited!

For the previous post, can you get a student loan for your prereqs and then apply again to michigan works?

Yeah, thats probably what im going to try for.

Im a bit nervous, with the economy I hear its harder to get loans.

I really need a stafford though, cant afford to make payments on a loan till im done with school.

They told me no all together for the nursing program because it is 3 years. I offered to pay for the first year and then get Michigan Works for the last two or vis versa but they said nope. They said it can only be a straight 2 year program that they approve on their list. I was thinking about maybe doing the LPN program first using that and then doing the RN transition but it didn't work out that way.
