Hi guys,
I am just really confused and I hope you can help me out. English is not my first language, so I have trouble understanding the Boards complicated website.
First, I am located in California and passed my NCLEX in July '10. My license is good for one year, and after renewal in 2011 good for two and so on.
Here comes the question: I understand that the Board says that because my license expires after one year, I do not have to do any CE's. Do I understand that correctly?
This is what the Board says:
"The 30 hour CE requirement does not apply to the first license renewal following the initial issuance of a license. However, if the license has been delinquent for more than one complete renewal cycle (i.e., more than 24 months) then CE is required."
I just want to make sure that I understood it right. Thank you for your answers!

You do not have to complete any CEUs prior to your first renewal. If you must renew for the first time in July 2011, you do not need to complete any CEUs prior to this date.
Thank you!

No CEs for first renewal in CA.
