So I'm going to be starting my clinicals here in a week. I am already thinking that I will be relocating to TN when I finish school. I was told that I can take the NCLEX at a PA testing center and my license would come from TN.
I'm just trying to gauge how long after everyone finishes their program until they take the NCLEX? I know that I want to take it as soon as possible just to get it out of the way. How long did it take to get the ATT in order to register for the NCLEX?

Depends mostly on how quickly you get your paperwork turned in, and how quickly the school will send your transcripts to the BON. Our school took about a month, but I guess it can vary.

I waited 3 months after graduation due to exhaustion & illness. I graduated just before the holidays..busy busy...got my auth to test (ATT) at the end of January, then scheduled for March. I needed rest and recovery before I felt "at my game." I studied my NCLEX books off & on before the BIG DAY...test shut off at 85...I passed. So DON't worry if you do not get to test right away. Just remember- if you know your stuff by graduation- YOU KNOW IT. HTH-
