Hi everyone!
I'm a Filipina who graduated from a nursing school in the Philippines last April of 2009. After taking the NLE last June which I successfully passed, I moved here to Houston Texas with my Mom and Stepdad. Now of course I have plans of working as a nurse here so I applied for the CES report in CGFNS in compliance with the requirements to take the NCLEX exam here. So, last September we sent a form to my school and paid a fee to have them forward my transcript of record to Philadelphia, PA. At the same time, my brother made a copy of my transcript and sent it to us and we received it within fifteen days. The original transcript sent by my school however has yet to reach the CGFNS office. Up to this day i haven't received any notification from CGFNS whether they already received my transcript. We sent another form and paid the fee for the second time last December 16 just in case something happened to the first one.
I was just wondering if there are other NCLEX/CGFNS applicants out there who are suffering from the same problem and frustrations as I am. I am not really aware of how the process goes and how long it takes. For those who already took the NCLEX/CGFNS, how long did it take to get your transcript over to CGFNS?
As much as I want to just relax and be patient and wait because i really can't do anything, my Mom and Stepdad are already frustrated and impatient and bugging me about the whole situation, especially when they learned that my Mom's friend's niece in Georgia graduated from a nursing school in the Philippines last 2003 and up to this day, they haven't received her transcript yet.
Please, please, please. I really need to now that I am not alone and that that is really the case when applying for NCLEX/CGFNS.
Thanksomuch.

Getting frustrated will not help the matters, CGFNS is well known for working slow and not updating stuff. Did you send it by courier? if snail mail takes weeks for them to open it, seems to be quicker when sent via courier. Also takes on average 4-6 months to get CES report issued and then you have to wait for the BON to action on your application.
we wanted ti to be sent by courier, but apparently the school does not allow that. they have like this school post office, and stuff like transcript has to be sent by them. so yeah.
4-6 months? that sucks. but, oh well. we really can't do anything about it.
thanks.

Right now what you can do while you wait is scope out the area and visit places that you would like to work. You might also want to talk to the
DON of LTC, or the hospitals to see what their requirements are. You want to be one step ahead while you're waiting. No point in just sitting around. Good Luck

I am also waiting for my CGFNS-CES. It's been 4 months now. They already received all the documents last October (maybe 2nd week) and after their initial evaluation of my transcript, they asked/required my school to provide a Theoretical hours for Microbiology which is not included in their form. I sent the request to CGFNS on the first week of December and until now there is no update.
If you know the documents was sent in September have you actually rang CGFNS and spoke to them? I know it took over 8 months to get my CES report issued and I rang them every month and my status didn't change until after I received a email saying report had been issued and I received my vsc through the post.
thanks for your replies.
I did call them several times and asked if they could confirm whether or not they received my transcript 'cause my status has not yet changed, and the guy said that my status has not yet changed because they haven't received anything yet.
I think you may have to have words with your school and say you wish to arrange collection by courier as things keep going missing and CGFNS keep stating they are not receiving documents (think this is all you can do) if you have courier proof that CGFNS received documents will stand more in your favour
I mentioned in my original post that we sent a 2nd request form to the school in the philippines which was completed and sent to CGFNS-CES Dec.16. My brother who did the transaction, asked the administrative staff if he could just send it through courier but they said no, they even refused to let my brother send the sealed envelope himself, because the school have like their own postal office in the administration building. This also happened when my brother processed the first request sent.
We called the school and they said the same thing.
What I'm doing is I'm contacting my friends/batchmates who know previous graduates (cause i dont know anyone) from the school who also applied or are trying to apply for GCFNS-CES/NCLEX and ask them about their application.
