Hi everyone,
I am going back to school this summer. I will be attending Delta College in Stockton, CA. I was wondering how long it normally takes to finish your prerequisites full time vs. part time for your ADN. I do plan on transferring to get my BSN.

I started last summer with two classes and going full time in fall and spring with 4 classes. This summer I am taking my last pre-requiste which A&P 2 so I took one year. This is for my ADN.

I started off slowly in Fall, 2012. Once I got the hang of school, I picked up a heavier load. I then made the decision to take my sciences separate. With that said, I will finish with my last pre-req, micro, next semester!! I took classes to cover both cc's and bsn programs.

It took me 2 years parttime. Sounds bad I know. But I have a husband and 2 children and also I maintained straight A's so not too bad I think :) I just applied to my ADN program. And I also have all but like 2 bsn prereqs out of the way.

Took me 2 and a half years, full time (16-18 credits a semester). For a BSN program :)

Two years part time; I am almost done with them. Already had a few credits from a prior degree which helped.

Two years, but I could have it done in one. I couldn't get a spot in anatomy and ended up using that second year to finish up my general ed and lighten my course load during the actual nursing portion of my program.

I started spring 2014 went summer and fall and spring this year and I'll be done with my prerequisites but I still have bio 2 and pharmacology to complete those are classes that can be taken while your in the program but I'm hoping to get them out the way in the fall along with phlebotomy just to get the feel for needles

I think it depends on the school.
My school only has 4 required prerequisites (for both PN and RN programs) which can be completed in one semester full time. But I know this is super minimal compared to other schools.

It took me one year to complete all 8 prereqs for a BSN. I started this past fall and I'm currently enrolled in Physiology which is my last prereq. My school does quarters, though, so it's easier to get them completed in one year (but they are much more rigorous because they are only 10 weeks long). Also keep in mind this was taking 17 units per quarter, and the max allowed is 19. So it is possible to get all of your prereqs done in one year, but it will be a lot of work.

It took me 18 months doing full time school, through the summer as well.
