I am waiting to hear back from the board of vocational nursing regarding my testing status. My school sent all the paperwork in a month ago. I am wondering how much longer it will take for them to process it. My check was cashed about a week after it was submitted.
From your experience, how long did you have to wait? Once recieved, how long should I expect to have to wait for a test date? Getting anxious here! Thanks

I received my ATT (authorization to test) approximately 5 weeks after my school had sent my paperwork to the California BVNPT.
Thanks Commuter.
When you scheduled your test date, were you able to get placement at a center within three weeks or so? I hope to test soon...before I forget everything! lol :)

Scallywag, I graduated in March of '06 and by the time everything was said and done I didn't get my actual license until July 12th.
You posted a while back that on the Board of Nursing site they had lists of schools with a ! next to them to show the LVN to Rn Programs. Can You post that link. I am desperately seeking an RN program because where I live there is a 2 year wait just to start the prereqs for the bridge program. I am in the High Desert. Jody
Hi! Thanks for the info. I hope that it moves along quickly!
Here is a link: http://www.rn.ca.gov/schools/rnprgms.htm
It will say "admits LVNs only" in the spaces that do specific LVN-RN programs. You should not limit your search based on this. I have found out that many of the schools will do advanced placement if you are a LVN. In an associates degree program, you would be eligible to skip the first year. Hope this is helpful! Good luck :)

scallywags: Did you get your ATT yet? My school sent in our applications on 6/18 and it looks like 5 weeks is the length of time. If this is the case, then I should get my ATT the week of 7/23.
Yes, I got it in the mail yesterday. I scheduled my exam for early August. Now I am nervous!
I'm sure you'll do fine. What book are you using for your review? I'm 2/3 of the way through with Saunders and the CD, then I'm moving on to the Q & A review book.
I am reading NCLEX-PN made incredibly easy and cross referencing with Saunders. I am also doing Kaplan online testing and Saunders Q&A. It is overwhelming the amount of review!
Good luck to you and let's hope for good news soon...for both of us :)
