How long does it take to acquire CNA license as a 1st semester nursing student?

Hello all!!

I just completed my first semester of nursing school in May and have applied to take the CNA equivalency exam to obtain my CNA license. In California, after your first semester of nursing school you can "opt out" of taking a CNA course and take the exam as long as you've completed Fundamentals of Nursing and had clinical hours.

I submitted all of the requirements that were listed on the California Department of Public Health (https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CHCQ/LCP/Pages/CNA.aspx) in order to take the exam.

My question is: have any other first semester nursing students applied to take the CNA exam? How long does the process take in order to be approved for the exam? Is there anything in particular I should study for in regard to the CNA exam and/or will there be a clinical portion of the exam? I'm not too sure how the testing process goes and any and all information would be greatly appreciated!! 🙂

P.S. I realize that that was more than one question but thank you for any input!!
