How long after graduation did you take the NCLEX?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I know it really depends on each individual person and their study habits, but I'm curious how long after graduation did you take the NCLEX? Pass/fail? Pros/cons?

(We are trying to plan a post graduation/pre Nursing job trip, and I'm trying to figure out a general time frame)

Specializes in Critical Care.

ASAP. Took me a month to get my ATT, And that was during slow season.

It took me about one month to get my ATT, I studied using Kaplan (in class and independently at home). I passed on my first try with 75 questions. Pearson Vue trick worked for me. Good luck! You will do just fine.

That's what I was thinking, about a month! Applying as soon as possible and trying to get it done and out of the way ASAP. Thanks for the feedback!

I am taking mine in 6 days after graduating in June. However, I have not been studying this entire time. I began studying right away, then had some issues come up in life and had to wait until now. I've been studying for 5 weeks now.

Specializes in Critical Care, Med-Surg, Psych, Geri, LTC, Tele,.

It took a few weeks, less than 1 month to get scheduled for my NCLEX PN.

During that time, I did tons of NCLEX prep. My goal was 3500 Qs. I only got to around 2500. I passed in the minimum amount of Qs.

I've heard that the RN NCLEX process is quicker.

For that reason, I'm doing NCLEX prep a few days per week now, while attending the RN program.

My school required us to do the green light program through ATI. I graduated July 10th got my green light September 18th and took my nclex September 26th!

I am sure you will do great!!

Specializes in Psychiatry, Forensics, Addictions.

I took my NCLEX about 3 weeks after graduation. I bought a review book, but didn't read it much. That was the extent of my studying. I don't know what a Pearson Vue trick is. I passed on the first try in 45 minutes.

Specializes in Pediatrics, Emergency, Trauma.

The NCLEX-PN 2 months; the NCLEX-RN two weeks-although I had started studying two months prior.

Passed both on the first try.

Specializes in LTC and Pediatrics.

Took my ATT about 3 weeks to arrive and then scheduled the NCLEX about another 10 days. I used the NCLEX Mastery App to prepare. I passed on my only try with 85 questions and took me just about 1 hour.

Ladyfree28, Did you like the Saunders Flashcards instead of the Saunders book better for your learning style? I'm a visual/kinesthetic learner. Thanks
