I heard that on the nclex that the test would designate how many units is needed? Is that true? In the below, do I just assume not to round since it was not specified?
The nurse cares for a client receiving 2,500 ml intravenous fluid in 24 hours. The nurse determines that the client should receive how many milliliters of fluid in 3 hours? Type the correct answer into the blank.

The question will tell you what it wants your answer to me rounded to. Also, the answer should only contain number (no units-ml, mg, etc.)
The above question did not designate. So I presume I just put down the whole answer no rounding to whatever number of decimal points it comes to.
Rest assured the NCLEX will tell you what they want. For your question above, I would follow normal rounding rules...if volume is greater than 1 ml-then round to the nearest tenth (as you did in the above) and if volume is less than 1 ml-round to the nearest hundredth. Hope this helps a little bit. Where are you getting that question from, if you don't mind me asking? I've never seen an NCLEX style question written without instructions on rounding.

Took my NCLEX yesterday and I had two math questions and both designated the amount to round to (tenth, next whole number, etc).
Thanks for letting me know. :)

I took NCLEX last month and it told you how to round. I only had one math problem out of 75.
Thank you all.
