Hi. I am a Canadian and completed my RN-BScn online through a US school last year. I am having difficulty getting a province to approve for me to write my NCLEX under them since we did our clinical virtually. This was because it was at the height of covid. Can a Canadian write NCLEX in the US? How else can I write my NCLEX? Thanks.

Moved to NCLEX forum, hopefully some of our members will be able to comment on this for you.

Your school should have given you that information.

Hi @anesh29, 2 possible scenarios:
Did you do the Bridging from RN to BSN? Regardless,
1. Since you completed part?/BSN education in the US, you needed to apply via NNAS and they will assess your education if it is comparable to Canadian education. Then you can apply to any Canadian - College of Nurses to write for NCLEX.
2. Since you completed your education even though ONLINE in a US State, the school should have forwarded your info/completion status to whatever State Board of Nursing that school is accredited. You should be able to start your application and apply to any? Board to sit/write for NCLEX in the US. Then follow #1 without retaking NCLEX again.

Yes you can write your NCLEX as a Canadian in the US. I wrote mine in California with my passport as ID.
