I have a question for you that I hope you can help me out with. My PCP just died suddenly from an anurysm last week and now I'm left without a PCP. I live in the state of New Mexico. I am in the nursing profession and am looking for an NP to transfer to. Is there a database of practicing NP's somewhere out there?
I had such a good relationship with my PCP who was an MD and I'm going to miss her dearly.
Thank you

Oh I'm so sorry. We can't recommend PCP's. However, I would advise you to contact the hospital where you would want care and then contact their medical offices that have NPs. Good luck and take care.

Mostly I have seen NP names listed in medical practice ads in the phone book
and once or twice have seen NPs with their own listings in the phone book under the general heading for nurses. I would think that NPs who are affiliated w/medical practices would not be avail for private consultations. You might want to go directly to one of these practices and directly ask for recommendations; hopefully the office staff will not put you off.

np central has a list: find a nurse practitioner
I know trauma. I wasn't asking for a recommendation of a specific person, I was just wondering if there was a list I can find to see who is close to me.

Your state nurse practitioners association should also have an online directory of some sort.
