How to be a good NP preceptor

Any tips? In family practice.

I will be taking an NP student from an accredited and respected school. She is already an ACNP. We've had some bad experiences with NP students in the past, but those were students the doctors agreed to accept, then pushed them off on the NPs in the practice. They were enrolled in the online-university-of-no-standards, and it showed. Fortunately, the docs stopped accepting students after those horrendous experiences. However, I have agreed to help a friend of a friend. Besides, I expect this could be mutually beneficial.

Anyway, I want to do this right and I welcome any recommendations from experienced preceptors.

My work is developing a preceptor training course. Here are the resources I am reviewing right now to see if they can help us to have better preceptorships and orientations.
