OK, I'm a new RN..an old new RN :D I opted for every OR I could get into in school & the supervisor was more than happy to help. I joined AORN as a student & changed my status when I passed boards. So here I am, without a job. The job postings are SO confusing - they say you must have graduated & either have a temp permit to work or your license and then go on to say you need like 3 years of experience. What am I missing?? Who has their temp permit but also has 3 years experience?? State transfers?? I even watch ORLive for FUN!! How can I get into an OR

Argo has 10 years experience and specializes in Peri-Op.

You can apply to the OR you did your clinicals at.... Apply for all positions that you see open at other hospitals. Sometimes places are short handed enough that they are willing to train someone with the right personality. Also, apply to any residency programs you can find within a comfortable radius of your home.

The temporary permit and active license deal is for state transfers.... not new grads.
