Hello Everyone,
My friend is studying for the NCLEX exam. She has in her possession Saunders fourth edition book and the third edition CD. How should she study. Should she read the entire book and then review the CD or just review the CD since time is of the essence.
As for me, I would like to know what is difference in relation to the old NCLEX exam and the new one(the one that started in April).
Please reply.
Thanks.

When I was preparing for my NCLEX, I read the book ( saunders 4th edition) from cover to cover for the 1st month. Then answered the Saunders comprehensive NCLEX-RN review and NCLEX 4000 for the next succeeding months. It is important that you know the content 1st rather than answering questions.
It depends on your friend if she prefers to read the entire book. But for me reading it from cover to cover made my confidence stronger and widened my knowledge as well.
Thanks Xterpogz. I appreciate your response and so does my friend. Do you have any knowledge as to difference in the NCLEX exam then and now. Thanks again.

Hi I took my nclex-RN on April 23 and I passed. I read somewhere that the exam is 5% more difficult than before April 2010 which is only 72%. So you need to have correct answers of atleast 77% of all the questions. But its really hard to tell. Some, are telling about the "logits" scoring. The distributions of questions, they add more questions on Case Management, and Pharmacology. And Lesser safety related questions. You can check the NCSBN website for details. I read the whole changes when i had my exams schedule on April. God bless you and your friend and hope that she will pass.

The new NCLEX format is presented on the NCSBN website.
Thanks so much to everyone that responded. I have passed on the information to my friend and she is also appreciative to those that responded. Thanks again.
