Hey, everyone.
I was just wondering how you find time for exercise while in nursing school (for those who do exercise)?
Exercise is a HUGE and important part of my life. I usually workout five times a week, sometimes more, for 45 minutes to an hour (while on break from nursing school, etc.). But I don't know how to find time to workout that often or that long while in nursing school. Last semester I worked out maybe twice a week at the most; sometimes going even a week without working out once...and when that happens, I get really upset, depressed, moody, etc. Working out really keeps me feeling great physically, mentally, but also emotionally.
I was reading a really old post here where some students were saying they exercised for an hour a day while in nursing school. I would love to know how they found the time to do that. I would love to be able to continue to do that, but last semester I had a hard time keeping up with the reading, so I didn't want to workout when I was behind in my reading! Not to mention the insane amount of paperwork and homework they give us.
Can anyone give me ideas (my third semester starts tomorrow)?
If you workout daily while in nursing school, how do you do it???? I would really love to know because I hate giving up doing something so often that means so much to me.
Thanks!

I just made a thread a few ones down about lacking exercise and good diet in nursing school haha! You're not alone!
Before I moved and entered my nursing program, I used to run almost daily at Garret Mountain in NJ. It was so beautiful! Really puts you into the right emotional frame of mind. So I do know how you feel.
I just look at it like once I graduate and get into a work habit I'll be able to do more of what I love again, like jog on a mountain or hike... There's some things I refuse to give up for nursing school though, like I give my dogs priority.
Maybe you can give up something like if you stay up at night to watch TV, if you give that up you can get up earlier to exercise?
P.S. Here's where I now keep my weights at my desk I study at! And you can pick the exercises you like I googled "weights sitting at desk" in youtube.

I think the best thing you can do is walk in between your study sessions. This will also clear your head and allow you to study more effectively after walking and getting some fresh air. If you want to weight lift I would recommend you get some free weights of craigslist and do a little weight lifting in the corner of your room. Honestly, what you eat will make the biggest difference in how you look, feel and overall health.
