Hello, everyone. I left my last job as a RN two years ago to take care of my family. I want to practice nursing this summer to meet CNO requirements regarding recent practice. I prefer to volunteer nurse as I just want to work temporarily, also it looks difficult to find a job after being out of nursing pracitce two years. However when I check nursing homes and hospitals' website, I found there is no RN volunteer position. Dose anybody have any experience aout volunteering nurse in Ontario? Is it possible to find a RN volunteer position in Ontario?

I don't think volunteer nurse position really exists--the liability wouldn't be something a Health organization would be willing to shoulder. Best bet would be to get a nursing job.

Some nurses have done the following:
work infrequently in casual positions with a hospital or LTC
volunteer with St John's ambulance as medical first responders at community events
volunteer as parish nurses at their local church
become certified instructors for specific courses such as CPR or mental health first aid
