Hi,
I'm really into psych nursing, especially in the area of dual diagosing since my father had issues with alcohol and drugs. As a result of that, I feel like I have a lot of strengths in that particular area because i acutally delt with these issues growing up. Anyhow, I live in Pittsburgh (if that matters) and was wondering if it's easy or difficult to get a job in psych nursing. I also could deal with the other mental illnesses too like bioplar, personality, etc. It's just something that always intrigued me. thank you

I assume you are already an RN. I gooogled "employment mental health nurse Pittsburgh" and got thousands of entrys. I did not have a hard time at all getting work. My current employer, whos name I can't mention for fear of warning, is looking for psych nurses. I'm up in rural New England though.

I am a new, inexperienced LVN in Texas who had no problem finding a per diem psych nursing job.

I am also a new rn. I , too, googled hospitals in the state that I wanted to work and then went onto individual hospital career openings. In northern NJ there are a ton of psych jobs.
